Gentle, Trauma Informed Hypnotherapy for PTSD
Support to help you feel safer, calmer and more in control without reliving the past
Living with PTSD or trauma can feel exhausting and isolating. Intrusive memories, heightened anxiety, disrupted sleep or emotional numbness can take over life.
At The Cadogan Practice, I offer trauma informed, solution focused hypnotherapy to help reduce symptoms of PTSD in a safe, gentle and respectful way, delivered online or in clinic, at your pace.
You Don’t Have To Relive Trauma To Heal
Many people worry that therapy will require them to revisit or retell distressing experiences.
My approach does not require disclosure of traumatic details ore re-experiencing past events. Instead we work with how the brain stores and responds to trauma, helping it regain a sense of safety and control.
This allows change to happen without overwhelm.
How Hypnotherapy Can Help with PTSD
Clients often find this approach helps to:
- Reduce intrusive memories and flashbacks
- Calm the nervous system and ease hypervigilance
- Improve sleep and reduce nightmares
- Build a greater sense of stability and resilience
- Shift focus towards the present and future
Sessions are calm, contained and always guided by your comfort.
What Clients Often Say
- “I feel more present and less controlled by my memories.”
- “My anxiety is much more manageable.”
- “Sleep has improved and the nightmares have eased.”
- “Not having to talk through everything made this feel safe.”
How It Works
- Free, No Pressure Consultation – A gentle conversation to explore what support might feel right for you.
- Tailored Hypnotherapy Sessions – Trauma informed sessions focused on restoring calm and control.
- Gradual, Sustainable Relief – Many clients notice meaningful changes over a small number of sessions, always at a pace that feels safe.
Specialist Trauma Training
In addition to Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, I am trained in the Rewind Trauma Technique, developed by Dr David Muss, founder of the International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT).
This approach is sometimes described as “closure without disclosure”, meaning:
- You do not need to describe traumatic events
- The risk of re-traumatisation is minimised
- Sensitive experiences remain private
The technique is widely used for single event trauma and PTSD symptoms such as flashbacks and intrusive recall.
